PrimeTime

I'm all about prime time, those Friday night lights. I live for the 2:00 drill, the tension and anxiety and all the sweat melding together to form this one glorious moment in time.  I'm tired, my eyes are red and I can feel my muscles cramping but if I can hold it together for these last 120 seconds it'll all be worth it.  The score doesn't matter now, the crowd and their expectations, I could care less.  I only do this for me, I need to see how far I can push myself and what resources haven't I quite tapped into yet. I have more, there's still so much more for me.  It ain't done until I see four zeros on the clock.

That was the approach I would always take when I was on the field; whether it be a mid day scrimmage in the blistering heat of august or 4th quarter under those Friday night lights.  I loved every moment of it and played like it were my last, but I was only able to do so because I had the preparation and support of my teammates and coaches.  I asked questions and worked through my limitations.  I take the same approach to writing; treat every piece like its the last thing anyone will ever read of yours, master your craft in that way.  The only way to do that is to master the prep work, write drafts early, get "coached up" by your professors and tutors, and don't be afraid to dig down for new ideas.  And if its crunch time and you waited until the last 2 hours to start that paper, I told you that's what I live for.  I'm good with 120 seconds, I'm great with 120 minutes.
